Udupi: Man arrested for cheating and trying to marry for third time

Udupi, Nov 5: Police arrested Mundagoda resident of Uttara Kannada district, Ravi Shankerappa Naik(30) for trying to cheat and marry a girl from Shirva, here on Wednesday, November 5.

Ravi Naik had accompanied Shashikala (30) a resident near Shirva Padavu Babbuswamy temple to Mundagodi on last Friday promising to marry her.

However, the girl after watching the fight between him and his second wife came to know that she was cheated and complained to Shirva station police.

Based on the complaint from the girl, Shirva station police inspector Ashok and staff on direction from Kaup circle inspector Sunil Y Naik, had thrown a net for the accused and arrested him near Attinje on Wednesday morning, November 5.

Ravi Naik, working as a mason in Shirva, was already married twice. He has three children from his first wife and two children from his second wife. He reportedly had deserted his first wife and was staying with his second wife.

    That is true.

    It is so ridiculous to bring politics (party or the leader) in every second incident of rape, theft, fights, even heavy rain or natural calamities and so on...

    Every one has his/her own way of thinking but it would be better if we act like a matured person in our thinking and expressing the same.

    Yep.. for few seculars... Every hindu arrested is a sanghi and terrorist.... and if it is Muslim then, "they are all either victim, misguided, American conspiracy, or doesnt belong to ISLAM at all"!!

    Every hindu person arrested, "Why sangh is not protesting.."

    and for every incidence, why Modi not responding, or why Modi is not doing something...!

    and worst is even if a muslim attacks Imam Shahi, then he is from Nagpur... and next few days when Imam invites Pakistani PM, ohh , this guy is not our Imam...

    if it is a SANGH program, ohh why there is no Indian flag, and why so many lathis and few flags etc..

    But if it is Sunni federation, no one even asks, bhi kidhar hai National flag and why every one carrying a flag with such big lathi in each hand! lol

    if Sangh carries one talwar for their program .. haww haww ... and if Siddaramayya is given big talwar in coorg function.. they are mum...! saw the hypocrisy?

    so, no point in taking them seriously! ... Treat every lunatic as a "CRIMINAL" and arrest them and ask for speedy justice... if he is in ur own backyard, catch him and hand over... if he is really innocent, he will come out victorious.. if not, let him suffer his deeds! but no one seems to think like it..

    The Bigamy law of Hindu Marriage act , IPC 494 a Non cognizable offence. So the Police can't file FIR , Only First class magistrate can initiate the action. Moreover Tribes are excluded from this section and Enquiry can b insticated only after collecting the sufficient evidence and last not but least , its a offence only if first or second wife objects. Any Tom , Dick , Harry cannot file a complaint ! .
