Mangaluru, Nov 6: The District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee meeting of the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat was held on Thursday, November 6 at the Zilla Panchayat meeting hall.
The meeting was organized to review the progress reports of various schemes of the central government. The meeting was presided over by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.
The Progress Report on the following items was reviewed:
Pradhan Mantri Grama Sadak Yojana: Under this project from year 2001, 142 project were proposed and 103 have been completed with 39 still pending. The work was hampered because of heavy rains during the monsoon season.
Central Road Fund (CRF): Rs 41.50 crore has been sanctioned for 81.00 kilometers to be developed. So far only work on 18.00 kilometers has been completed. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel was not happy about the progress of projects. He has requested to speed up the work.
Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP), Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan (NBA), India Awas Yojana, etc were reviewed.
Nalin Kumar Kateel inquired about the progress of these above programmes with the concerned authorities assisted by the district officials. The concerned officers narrated the progress of the work under different schemes of which they were in charge.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel advised the officials and district officers that there is a need to speed up work in many of the projects.
Tulasi Maddineni, DK Zilla Panchayat CEO, Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim and others were present.
