Beltangady: Three arrested in cattle trafficking, cattle rescued

Belthangady, Nov 7: Police arrested three persons in connection with cattle trafficking and rescued cattle which were being transported.

The arrested persons have been identified as  Abdul Rahim, G M Mohammed, and Abdul Nazir, all from Chikmagalur.

The raid took place at Charmadi near the forest check post on the way to Kottigehara from Ujire. The cattle were found in a Mahindra Maximo vehicle coming from Chikmagalur and proceeding towards an unknown destination in Dakshina Kannada district. The number of cattle rescued are three.

The police team was led by ASI Kaleimar from Beltangady police station.

A case has been registered in Belthangady police station.
