Bengaluru: SMS threat to Bengaluru international airport, accused arrested

Bengaluru, Nov 10: The police have arrested a person who sent an SMS threatening of exploding bomb at Kempegowda international airport in Bengaluru.

Nanjundegowda alias Shivananda from Gangegowda dhoddi village of Channapatna is the person accused.

Police have also interrogating Ningegowda from Chakkare, a relative of the accused and Yogesh a mobile phone shop owner.

As per information from police, the mobile SIM card did not belong to the accused, but to his relative Ningegowda.

As per reports, Shivananda is a resident of Bengaluru and had married seven months back. He used to come to his native place very often. And when he had come to his native place last time, he had bought a mobile SIM card in his relative Ningegowda’s name.

On Saturday night Shivananda sent a message to the international airport telling them that the bomb would be planted and exploded at the airport.

The airport authorities immediately on receipt of the SMS lodged a complaint at the airport police station. The police managed to apprehend Shivananda and he has now admitted to his crime without providing any reason for the act.
