Mangalore: 'Gramadonji Gauji' - Spirit of rural sports rekindled at Ullal

Mangalore, Nov 10: Sauharda Kalavidaru and Jai Hanuman Kreedamandali jointly held Gramadonji Gauji sports meet at Deppelimar sludge fields on Sunday, Nov 9. The Buffalo race was the main attraction.

Running race in the sludge, three legged race in the sludge, catching the fish, breaking of the pot in the sludge, lime in a spoon, rice murrah competition, rope from grass, design from coconut fiber and mud, knitting baskets and treasure hunt were held on individual basis.























 

In the groups division, pulling the rope, throwing the ball in the sludge, relay sports in the sludge and exhibition of village life was held during the programme.

    Nice to see the "Kesaru Gadde" and the muddy patterns on their dress. When we were kids we used to enjoy all day long in the monsoon season at our “Ajji Mane" near Kota. Missing those days, those ware days, no Phones, no TV, no Tension. Thanks for making me nostalgia, Daiji.

    really nice to see. Enjoying in our own motherland is like playing in mother's lap, The happiness and enjoyment is different.where we find like this in gulf countries, only for money purpose we have to leave our country nothing will gain.
