Kundapur, Nov 11: In a shocking incident reported at Saraswati Colony in Doddamane here on Tuesday November 11, a man allegedly killed his young daughter and then committed suicide.

Shashidhar Upadhyaya (41) allegedly killed his 8-year-old daughter Bhargavi, before hanging himself. The girl also died by hanging.

Sources said that Shashidhar's wife had left him for another man and from the past one year, only Shashidhar and Bhargavi were residing in the house.

Shashidhar left behind a death note, in which he stated that he himself was responsible for the suicide. It is learnt that marital problems and family dispute pushed him to take this extreme step.

Shashidhar's mother and brother live close by. The incident came to light when the brother came to Shashidhar's house in the morning. When he got no response from inside the house, he grew suspicious. The back door was then forced open and the bodies were found.

Kundapur police rushed to the spot and registered a case.

    Suicide cases specially among married men is going exponential now a days. Lack of NGO or govt sectors to help men in distress , no legal help , anti men judiciary , feminist propagandas are the major reason. Empowerment at the cost of other gender and Holy grail assuming women are always right and noble , Makes life difficult and nauseating for men. May Their Soul Rest in peace.

    It is a very sad/unfortunate step taken. Though it is wrong, would never know what was in the father mind. Depression I guess. I would like to know if any case would be filed against the mother, for staying with another man though being married to someone else and also a reason for abetment to suicide. Incase the father was the one who left his wife, there would have been definitely a case registered and criminal proceedings would have been initiated then. Just a thought......

    Shashidhar looks very handsome in his pic. I wonder what made his wife to leave him and cute daughter?. The news is really shocking and un bearable.

    It is not a crime of that Angel, sadly, it is her fate to be born to that woman, who is a criminal in this case.
    I do have consolation that the angel is in heaven, without doubt.
    Why to commit suicide even if wife left him and to kill innocent girl is terrible.Life is full of good and bad things. Unless you forget bad things and move on life may become like hell. but the good news is that there is always a sunrise after sunset.

    Marriage is a bond of love and understanding agreed mutually with God in the midst and none has the right to break. I do agree with the t.v. serials which affects the couples and children because most of them are blown out of proportion. A wife can work and its a necessity. If wife has left him he should have legally divorced her after knowing the genuine reason and taken the help of parents or should have kept this child in the boarding so that she is grown in a good atmosphere. Why did he killed this innocent child? What he did is against God's call. Its very painful to hear killings of innocent children. May God forgive him.

    Why not stop these nasty and lewd soap serials that are airing all over in India, that have become everyday culture for all women, to sit and watch while husband goes to work.

    These serials dont show the real face of life, but make a person to indulge and crave for pleasures beyond.

    I dont think even western world air these type of nasty serials like those in India.

    Sadly even our Indian movies are more suggestive than real porn movies.

    there have been serials like Ramayana, Mahabharat, Satya Harishchandra, Bible and many such noble stories.. That didnt make any good human being or stopped adharma! why blame serials and films for instrinsic problem of human psyche?... it was pure lust and no amount of showing dharmic pravachan wld change her! ... she has ruined the life of her husband and killed her own daughter today!.. I feel sad for the victims here...

    stop taking the world back to stone age, by stoning TV/Serials/Films.. those are for your entertainment, and treat them as such.

    @Now for Gods sake dont give the fault to Serials.As you say women sit and watch Serials and men go to work.It is not correct,for a Change nowadyas many men drink and give out Money sit at home what woman has earned in gulf,or as a daily wager.I dont say all.how many families are spoiled because of this alcohol.well here the Girl was innocent.he shouldnt have killed her.Atleast she could live with grandmother .we dont know the reason why woman left her home and Family.Probably the man couldnt meet the problem of that childs requirements and work without Family help.must have missed wife also.may their souls rest in Peace.

    Its not just today but it has always been a trend. As children we look up to the adult, as adults we look down at the younger generation and watch what is happening. Unless one maintains a balance between materialistic and personal life and invests fairly, there always is a descend after which either of the sides reject you. Money oriented associates will abandon you may it be personal or professional side. Its purely the fortunate ones who live a cordial life throughout.

    Those who suffer most in marital discord are the children. At the same time, its brave of the man to have shouldered to raise the little girl after her mother left them. I can understand, it must have been too difficult for him to deal with harsh realities of life but he should not have killed the child. Anybody from the family would have happily adopted her.

    Lydia, if you minutely observe the trend today has totally veered towards materialism and capitalism, only money, material possessions, property, pleasures, and power, which are all 'temporary' are the given the first importance in any relationship all other human attributes are down the line!!
