IT IS BETTER NOT TO COMMENT IN SUCH A URGENCY UNLESS WE KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT THE CRIME.

THE SOCIETY IS MIX OF CRIMINALS OF BOTH SEX AND IT IS UPTO THE PEOPLE REPS. TO ACT/GUIDE RESPONSIBLY IN ANY SOCIETY AND HELP THE DEPRIVED WITHOUT ANY SELFISH OBJECTIVES.

Dear Folks, there is a huge degree of increase in crimes such as suicide, rape, murder, extortion etc...Have you ever wondered the reason behind it, lack of quick and effective judicial procedures. Though numerous cases in Karnataka itself, have read very few judgement reported by the media. can media focus more on what happens after the arrest to the judgement, stats will show what the truth is. We are used to saying "have an investigation and the truth will come out" but has anyone followed and waited for the truth to come out. MEDIA we rely on you for this. As you report an incident very quickly highlight what happens after that. On the other side, has any case been booked against the wife who left her husband and daughter living with another person though already married which led to the father killing his daughter and then committing suicide. Unfortunate but true this issue as well has been coming from ages and was never dealt with at the right time. This has been happening in the past and will increase in the future if our leaders do not act today.just a thought........

    Shalini,

I am not biased but life is not as simple and straightforward as it is painted from outside, where sincerity, faithfulness take back stage and sometimes lies dominate. There are so many different reasons for fight in the married life.

If husband overpowers so on....... there is a legal/religious ways to seek solution. Try first but not to succumb to such drastic action of taking one’s own life.

I am not contradicting your views and I never wish any ones married life be spoiled and see bad ending.

Yes Flavian, it is very easy to say or rather comment. What do you mean by society being sympathetic towards women, women are always suppressed and there are various ways of harassment, god alone knows what this young lady went through. Your story may be on the brighter side and every family there are problems but depends on the quality. We just cannot comments about being biased. Doesnot mean that you got through meaning she also should have. It is really sad and we always say why people commit suicide. It depends, if you have moral support from your family one wont take this drastic step. Compromise like you said yes one should, but the situation must be so grave that has forced her to die. Sometimes men overpower seeing the weakness of a lady. Hence I would always say every man and women must have their own identity, dont depend on the man completely. Take up a job and fend for your self. Times have changed and why should a woman die for the man, No ways. So many cells are there, go and take help from them. But dying for a problem or for that husband is no justice.

Nice to read the comments and counter ones. (Stan Dubai, Roshan & Rudolf Mumbai)
Family fights and arguments are common in the married life but what is important is we should try to compromise and adjust life not to drag on things for ever.
In most of such incidents the blame is directed towards the man and our society also very sympathetic towards women. It is difficult to convey the sympathizers even with best of facts against the woman.(wife). Man is socially tagged liked that. I too have real life experience but things are smooth now. (Not ashamed to speak my heart).

Do not leave the husband easily.
He may have provided the PUSH required for her to fall in the lake. Moreover, it is said he was harassing her (for more dowry?!!), leading her to depression.
These kind of males should not be let off easily. They have a habit of unnecessarily dominating the woman of the house, abusing her every day, even after many of them being bread winners for the family. That is because their men are busy moral policing or something of that sort. They think it is the "culture" - dominating their women by hurting them in various ways.
Hope police find the person responsible for her death and not allow any groups\politician influence the investigation.
They call them, right, "Kanninali Raktha illadavaru"

@ stan , dubai. Yup , Men need to b strong and should not pay heed to any feminist propaganda and white knights . @ rudolf , mumbai. Its very sad , specially in rc konkan catholics. Most of them work hard far places , to ensure better life for wife and children. Once they age geacefully and return back home , find the family once cherished him , now totally igonrant and selfish. The shared spending in a family is very rare , specially educated employed girls demand joint accounts . And insists husband spend money and theirs to b saved. Most of them prefer to b housewife and use their candidature ( education etc ) to attract good earning boys. If a boy wants a housewife , he can opt for young girl , why he has to go after more educated and mature woman who possibly come with all baggage !?

When one is retired and physically frail if the wife aligns (almost always it is that way) with the children and starts abusing the husband/father for whatever reason, what can the man do other than suffer it, your 'biblical' world and 'real' world is miles apart???

As in other news threads in Daijiworld , there is a spike in suiccide cases among married men , But their wifes are not even booked as if Mens lives r taken for granted. But whenever a housewife committs suiccide Husband r booked immediately under domestic violence act. What a partiality , inequality and misandry!!. Men contribute majority of the nations GDP but their interests are clearly supressed.

May her soul rest in Peace.

Its better to divorce than being subjected to physical and mental torture. All women who are getting harassed please do not commit suicide, but being alive punish them through legal process. No body should take their own life as its a gift of god.May her soul rest in peace.

While condemning domestic violence on women, here too the media highlights are gender biased and tilted towards women, in fact nowadays many men are being mentally and even physically abused by their wives after aligning with the children if you go by news reports etc.!!

God created men as head of the family and they should behave like that. Men are supposed to be stronger than women and should defend themselves against ill treating women. All laws are created by men only and at that time they have not foreseen women harassing men.

When people give respects to their Mothers & Sisters why not same people treat their Wife too with same manner? As long as our people change their mentality no law can change them forever for sure!!!! For few of our homely people, domestic fighting is the daily routine life but killing your Partner for any issue is not acceptable at all

How can God be 'exclusive', he cannot, he should be 'inclusive' so why blame him or bring him in between for our actions???
