Hassan, Nov 12: About 65 students of Diggenahalli government high school near Javagal took ill after consuming iron tablets on Tuesday.
The iron tablets were given to the students in the school as part of the health initiative.
45 of the students are undergoing treatment at Javagal government hospital while another 20 students have been taken to Arasikere government hospital. It is said that condition of 13 students is critical.
As per reports, the students were still given the tablets even though the expiry date of the tablets was on Tuesday. There is an instruction that the distribution of the tablets should be stopped three months before the expiry date.
