Mandya, Nov 12: Rape incident on a minor has taken place again in the state. The incident happened at Neelanahalli gate near Pandavapura in Mandya district.

As per reports the victim is a 10th standard student from Banasavadi private school in Bengaluru. On Monday she left the house because of some small arguments with her family. Then she came to Mysuru and visited Chamundi hills. At around 7 pm she decided to leave Mysuru to go to her house. She came to the railway station and took the passenger train to Bengaluru.

A person aged 40 years who wore red shirt and blue pant talked to her during the journey. He told her not to go home late for safety reasons. He asked her to come to his house claiming he too had two daughters. They got down at Srirangapatna railway station. Then they took a bus to Neelanahalli gate.

The accused took her to a unknown place and allegedly raped her and fled from the scene. The girl was later rescued by some youth who took her to police station.

The victim has been admitted to Pandavapura government hospital. The father of the girl has filed a complaint on the rape.

Education minister Kimmane Ratnakar, district in charge minister M H Ambarish and C S Puttaraju visited the victim at the hospital. Mandya superintendent of police Bhushan G Borase has said that they are on the lookout for the accused.

Students in Pandavapura on Tuesday took to street protesting about the rape.

Meanwhile district in charge minister Ambarish has said that rape incidents have not gone up after the Congress came into power but media have been reporting all the cases unlike before.

As someone quoted unless the daughters and wives of these ministers get in to such issues, these ministers will never wake up. What to do...
