Kundapur, Nov 12: A young girl from Mudranigudde in Mudoor village near Kollur has died mysteriously on Monday night in Kundapur.

Sunita Poojary (18) is the deceased.

As per reports, Sunita who was sleeping at home on Monday night was found with drastic drop in her body temperature. She was taken to the hospital, but breathed her last in hours.

Sunita the daughter of Sura Poojary is from a poor financial background. She left her school after her 8th standard and joined a cashew factory as a worker to look after her family.

On the day of her death, she had not gone to work but had visited a temple with her friends. She had come back home in the evening.

Later at night, she went to her relatives’ house in the neighbourhood to watch television as her house did not have a television. She came back home and went to bed when her parents and brother also had gone to watch television in the neighbouring house.

When the parents and brother of Sunita came back home, they discovered that Sunita was not responding and her body temperature had gone down drastically. They with the help of neighbours took her to Kundapur hospital. Sunita passed away in the hospital without responding to treatment.

Post mortem was done at KMC hospital in Manipal. As per preliminary reports no sexual assault has taken place. Further details are awaited.

A complaint has been registered at Kollur police station.
