New Delhi, Nov 7: The NCP on Monday termed as "blasphemous and racist" the nudging of BCCI chief Sharad Pawar by the Australians during the Champions Trophy prize distribution ceremony and demanded an apology.
"The Australian team's behaviour is blasphemous and racist," NCP national media convener Suraj Yadav said.
"The Australian team should apologise for its uncultured behaviour," he said.
Pawar is also the president of the NCP and Minister for Food and Agriculture in the Union cabinet.
Eager to hold the Champions Trophy and pose for the cameras with his teammates, Australian skipper Ricky Ponting was seen tapping Pawar on the shoulder as a gesture to leave the stage after the prize distribution ceremony at the CCI Ground in Mumbai on Sunday night.
