Kasargod, Nov 12: A Police who has to provide the protection to the people has committed the sexual assault on a 25-year-old woman.
The team headed by DYSP Surendran have arrested Adooru Police Grade Station Inspector V V Sugunan(52) . Police have also registered a case against a youth related to the case.
It is said that the alleged sexual assault took place 5 months ago, but today this incident came to light. It is also said that woman was working as maid at a doctors house in the outskirts of the city.
Presently the victim is 5 months pregnant.
The victim in her complaint mentioned that she was also sexually assaulted in doctor's residence by his relative. As result police also filed case against Hanif.
Girl in her complaint also revealed that Sugunan came to contact when she had been to police station to file complaint against a person resident of Karavedaga in fraud case of Rs 10000. Sugunan had obtained cell phone number and contacted her. Later Sugunan also took her to a lodge in Subramanya and allegedly sexually assaulted her.The sexual attack was committed in month of June in 2014 as per the complaint
The victim also mentioned that she was sexually attacked by Hanif on 25th May 2014 in the kitchen at midnight.
It is also said that when it came to know that girl became pregnant her relatives filed complaint in Women's Cell. When police started investigation incident came to light and police successfully nabbed the accused.
Accused were produced in Kasargod court and Court has granted them two weeks judicial custody.
