Throw ball tournament concludes at St Raymond's PU College

Mangaluru, Nov 13: “Student must have self confidence and achieve the goal by unceasing efforts”, said MLC Ivan D’Souza during the inauguration of district level throw ball tournament of Dakshina Kannada, at St Raymond’s PU College, Vamanjoor, on Tuesday, November 11. 

Sr Christella BS, the correspondent presided over the programme. She encouraged the students to be just and honest in their efforts towards success.

In his inaugural speech, MLC Ivan D’Souza called upon the students to emulate the confidence that he had in his political life having success after 30 years of unceasing efforts.

The chief guest of the day Fr Ajith Menezes, in-charge director of St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor  blessed the tournament and said that every student should strive hard to win and not lose heart if one was defeated, for defeat leads to success. 

Sr Cecilia D’Souza BS, principal welcomed and Savitha Menezes compered the programme.

The winners among boys were Rosa Mystica PU College, Mangalore Taluk. They were also selected for the state level competition. The runners up were Sacred Heart PU College, Belthangady Taluk. The girls of Shri Krishna PU College, Puttur Taluk, were the winners and Bharath PU College, Mangalore Taluk were the runners up.

After winning the tournament, Rosa Mystica PU College, Kinnikambla also became eligible to participate in state level throw ball tournament to be held in Ramnagar, Bengaluru. Having won at Taluk level, the college defeated Belthangady Taluk in the district Level.

Sr Jessy Rita BS, the principal along with the staff and support of the locals successfully conducted the Taluk level Tournament on November 6, 2014 at Rosa Mystica PU College.
