Karnataka’s DTE chosen for Indira Gandhi NSS award

Bengaluru, Nov 13: Karnataka’s Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has been chosen for the prestigious Indira Gandhi NSS Award.

The Union Ministry of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, Youth Affairs and Sports awarded Indira Gandhi NSS Award to Directorate of Technical Education, Bangalore, in the category of Best University/Directorate of India, for the year 2013-14.

A N Pujar, NSS Regional Head, in a communication to H U Talawar, Director, Technical Education, said that award would be presented at Rastrapathi Bhavan in the national capital on November 19.

Talawar and NSS Co-ordinator Umapathi would receive the award, said an official note from the Directorate of Technical Education here.

The Directorate of Technical Education operates NSS scheme in polytechnics across the State and has 10,000 volunteers.
