Jewellery theft in Bondel, Young girl arrested

Mangaluru, Nov 14: Mangaluru rural police have arrested a young girl on the charges of stealing jewellery from a house in Bondel.

Shalwyn Dias (20), a resident of Maria Nagar near Jeppu seminary, is the accused person.

As per reports, Shalwyn had stolen jewellery on different occasions from the house of Lizzi Gonsalves in Bondel.

Shalwyn knew Lizzi’s son Kevinson well and used to visit them frequently. In the month of September, two bangles went missing from Lizzi’s house when Shalwyn had visited them. Again on November 4, Shalwyn visited and stayed with them. The next day, it was discovered that two bangles again were missing.

Then Lizzi complained about the theft to Mangaluru rural police. The police started the investigations and arrested Shalwyn Dias.

According to police sources, Shalwyn has admitted to the crime. Police have managed to seize 4 bangles and a ring valued above Rs. 1 lac from the accused.
