Udupi, Nov 18: Padubidri police have arrested a person for sexual harassment on a minor girl in Padubidri.

Hanif (18) from Kanchinadka in Padubidri is the person arrested.

As per reports, the victim lived in Kanchinadka with her foster parents when she got to know the accused. The alleged sexual harassment took place on August 10.

It is learnt the accused even visited the victim after the family of the victim shifted to Suratkal. While learning about the visit, foster father of the victim scolded and slapped her for meeting the accused. Then a complaint was lodged on the same at Suratkal police station.
Dakshina Kannada Child welfare officers learned about the sexual harassment during the counselling. The child welfare department immediately sent an email to the police regarding the issue and the police arrested the victim.

Earlier a case for ganja trafficking had been registered against Hanif.
