Mangaluru, Nov 18: The 61th All India Co-operative Week 2014 was observed at Shanthi Nilaya Hall, Balmatta here on Tuesday November 18. Sadashiv Ullal gave the floral welcome to the guests.

M N Rajendra Kumar, Chairman, SCDCC Bank in his welcome address said, " I am happy to see the huge women presence in the gathering. Co-operative is a growing and it require continuous support of the people in future also. The government does not deposit the funds in the Co-operative banks. Commercial banks in the name of agricultuarl loans have been misusing by giving car loans, as agricultuarl loans. All the facilities are enjoyed by the Commercial banks but all the restriction and work are imposed on the Co-operative sector. Despite government being harsh on us, Co-operative banks in Dakshin Kannada district are flourishing and growing year by year."

U T Khader minister for Health and Family Welfare after inaugurating the programme by lighting the lamp said, " Our country is growing and Co-operative banks are playing vital role by empowering the agriculture sector. In our country farmers play a vital role. They feed 125 crore people of the country. Co-operative society has also given the helping hand to the farmers through various loan facilities. I wish all the success to the Co-operative bank in the years to come. Accusations and hurdles are part of life, we have face it and overcome it and walk ahead."

A rally was organized at 10 am from D K Jilla Kendra Sahakari Bank, Kodiyal Bail to Shanthi Nilaya, Balmatta.

Konkodi Padmanabha, Chairman of CAMPCO, Harish Achar President of D.K. District co-operative union Mangalore, Director of the Karnataka Rajya Souharda Samyukta Sahakari Ltd S R Satishchandra and others were present during the occassion.
