Mangaluru, Nov 19: District Congress celebrated the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi at the Congress office on November 19.

District Congress president Ibrahim Kodijal and other Congress leaders paid homage to the potrait of Indira Gandhi.









District Congress President Ibrahim Kodijal addressing the party workers said, "We cannot forget the work done by Indira Gandhi, she is sole responsible for 20-point programme, nationalisation of banks and Land Acquisition Act which helped the poor farmers to own the land. Now if daliths, minorities can walk freely its beacuse of her efforts."

Mayor Mahabala Marla said,"Indira Gandhi was well known around the world because of her dedication and leadership qualities. Her motto was 'roti, kapda aur makan' which tranformed the poverty into economic growth of the country. Lets all strive to adopt her qualities into our lives and thus walk in her path and make India shine."

B A Mohideen, Congress leader and former state minister hailed Indira Gandhi saying she was an extra-ordinary women and a great inspiration to everyone.

Former city mayor, M Shashidhar Hegde, deputy mayor, Kavitha and other congress leaders were present during the occasion.
