Mangaluru, Nov 30: NSS special camp 2014-15 of University College, Mangaluru was held from November 22 to November 28 at DKJPHP School, Parapade, Ananda Nagar, Mangaluru.
Shashidhar Hegde, ex-Mayor of Mangalore City Corporation inaugurated the camp. 100 students participated in the camp. They repaired the road and drainage. They also created awareness among local people about voting, AIDS, blood donation and drugs through street play.
Dr Dayanand Naik and Dr Nagarathna K A were the NSS officers of the camp. Dr Sathyanarayana Mallipatna, principal of the college was the president of the valedictory function.
MLA Moideen Bava visited the camp and appreciated the work of students for the society. In the seven days camp, various programmes like personality development skills and Indian cultural activities were held for the NSS volunteers.
