Mysuru: Girl rewarded by police for taking on offender

Mysuru, Dec 3: City police commissioner, M A Saleem, felicitated a lady from the city who showed exceptional courage on the lines of sisters from Rohtak, Haryana and ladies from Bengaluru, and repulsed the advances of a personal who was stalking her. He also presented an award of Rs 1,000 to her. She was also presented with a commendation letter by the police department.

Chaitra (25), daughter of Lokanath, a retired railway employee, living in Chamundipuram in the city, had slapped Mohammed Sameer (33) from Kalyanagiri here publicly, after finding his eve-teasing and overtures unbearable.

The accused has been booked for sexual harassment under section 356 (A) of Indian Penal Code. On being produced in court, he was remanded to judicial custody.
