Beltangady: Goods vehicle tumbles - driver loses life

Beltangady, Dec 7: The driver of a goods vehicle lost his life after the vehicle he was driving met with an accident at the base of Charmadi Ghat on Saturday December 6. The vehicle was carrying fish from Malpe to Hassan.

The deceased has been identified as Nassir (40) from Hassan. It is learnt that he was regularly driving the vehicle loaded with fish to Hassan from Malpe. On Saturday afternoon, the vehicle went out of the control of the driver when it was nearing a hotel being run by Hasanabba at Charmadi. People on the spot said that the vehicle was speeding and being driven recklessly.

The driver, who got sandwiched between the vehicle and the road, got crushed to death. Locals and policemen acted immediately to restore traffic on Charmadi Ghat road.
