Mangaluru: Youngster dies as car rams into bike at Bannadka

Mangaluru, Dec 8: A youngster was killed and another injured after a car rammed into their bike at Bannadka on Moodbidri-Karkala national highway on Sunday December 7.

The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Hegde (18).

The driver of a Hyundai car moving from Karkala to Moodbidri hit a Wagon-R approaching from the opposite direction, and losing control of the vehicle, rammed into the bike which Sandeep was riding.

The impact was such that Sandeep succumbed to injuries on the spot while pillion rider Dinesh Poojary (18) sustained grievous injuries. Dinesh has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

Sandeep was the only son of Murthy, a resident of Padumarnadu. He was a student of second PU at Jain Pre-University College.

Dinesh is the son of Shekhar Poojary, a resident of Padumarnadu.

It is said that Sandeep and Dinesh had gone to buy milk when the accident occured.

Moodbidri police have registered a case.
