Mangaluru, Dec 8: A woman has complained to the Bunder police station saying that she has been subjected to dowry harassment by her husband.

Deepa Vijayendra Shet is the complainant.

As per details, Deepa married Vijayendra Shet in 2007. Vijayendra’s mother had demanded 50 sovereigns of gold as dowry. But Deepa’s parents could only arrange 25 sovereigns of gold. For six months all was well until Vijayendra stared harassing her after consuming alcohol. The complaint says that she was physically abused by her husband. It is also alleged that he was responsible for the abortion in her first pregnancy.

Deepa in her complaint has stated that Vijayendra has been telling her that other woman would have given him more dowry in the form of flat and car which Deepa has failed to give. Deepa has also told the police that Vijayendra has some other extra marital affair because of which he has not coming home for the past seven months and not paying her any maintenance to look after herself and children.

Deepa has accused her husband of mental harassment. She has told the police that Vijayendra has threatened her by telephone that he would kidnap her children.

Excuse me Deepa, now you are complaining.why did you marry him at all that timewhen they started dasking to give Gold double amount?what will his mother do with that?finance his alcohol?now either take a lawyer instead of going to Police.either you take your children and go to mothers place first. If you have a degree or go to work and look after your children.sure it is hard, but not impossible.Instead of going through the hell everyday and not knowing what is childrens future ,and other side in law s harassement, have peace of mind.such husband is not worth having a wife like you,so Long if have told the truth.I am not for going away but it is only way to protect children and you.
