Mangaluru: Royston Pinto's debut music album 'Tuje Khatir' set to release

Mangaluru, Dec 9: Royston Pinto in collaboration with many noteworthy artistes has come out with his debut release 'Tuje Khatir', a contemporary Konkani music album which is set to steal the hearts of millions of Konkani music lovers.

The album will be released on Christmas eve, after the Mass in St Joseph the Worker Church, Vamanjoor.

Twelve different tracks, each with a unique feel, will put the listener in the perfect groove, akin to a musical evening. Feast your ears to numbers ranging from sun-kissed modern pop to quietly seductive nocturnal pop, mesmerising desi-rock, western genres and many more, sung by artistes from Mangalore, Bangalore and Mysore. Eleven of these tracks have been crafted and composed by Royston and the golden voice lent by Prajoth D’sa has added to the irrepressible charm.

This album is an ardent effort to introduce young and hidden talents of the Konkani music field to global music lovers throughout the world. Royston and his team have put their best in this album, with tunes that relax and soothe the senses.


About Royston Pinto

"At an early age, my ears knew and loved nothing but music," says Royston Pinto, who has dreamt of launching an album ever since he could remember. He has worked on 11 songs in this album and has rendered each track as a testament to his love for music. His music delivers equal amounts of sugar and grit, as well as a surprising amount of nuance.

Those who know of his longstanding relationship with music are aware of the husky and catchy undertones in his voice which pulls at the heartstrings of many. Introduced publically as the lead vocalist of 'Milestone' (the brain child of Kevin Misquith), he has performed for numerous Konkani shows in and around Mangalore. Avid listeners have also heard his voice in Kevin Misquith’s recent album 'Thembe Thembe'. Now, Royston is all set to mesmerize Konkani music lovers with his own debut album.


Prajoth D'Sa

Few haven’t heard the melodious and lilting voice of Prajoth D’sa. A voice that speaks of love and evokes the soft gush of glistening rivulets, he has sung for scores of Konkani music album. His recent album ' Udi Udi' was received with tremendous applause and appreciation. He has sung for scores of musical albums and has become noteworthy in the Konkani music world in a short span of time. In this album, he has ventured to belt out two unique and striking tracks, one of which is his very own composition and another based on the Acapella genre. He too has added his touch to this album in his very own way.


Jean Mitchelle Braggs

A notable alto singer, Jean Braggs is a voice to reckon with. She is well known for her active involvement in choirs in and around Mangalore, her performances in many concerts, and the multitude of albums she has rendered her voice to. She features in this album in a romantic duet which reflects the adorable appeal in her voice perfectly.


Ashwin D'Costa

Ashwin D’Costa, is an upcoming singer who has been noticed by his melodious presence in various casual and devotional albums. A flawless recipe to warm the hearts of many admirers, Ashwin is a top list contender of the Konkani singing show Soad 4.


Munita Veigas

Munita Veigas, the belle with a golden heart, a golden voice and beautiful looks has dusted her fairy charm on so many Konkani music lovers globally. Her rich voice resonates through her tracks in this album. She is versatile in her musical presence and is audibly present in various concerts local and internationally, in conjunction to her to contribution to albums and choirs. She is also an active band member of 'Milestone' and other prominent bands in Mangalore.


Ashwin Sequeira

His voice is equally proportionate to his impressive personality. His voice reaches scales that few would dare to. The co-founder and vocalist of 'Milestone', he came into limelight with his strong vocals for the song 'Tu Munon' from the album 'Thembe Thembe'. His voice in this album evokes a romantic charm.


Ashish Palanna

Some people are born with a silver spoon in a mouth, and some are endowed with musical genius. Well known as the proprietor and founder of the band 'ROL' or Rhythm of Love, Ashish Palanna is a born teacher. He shares his love for music among his multitude of students. He also owns a music store in Mangalore.


Rini Roberts

A sensation from Mysore, Rini Roberts lends her lovely voice to the album. A debutante with true talent and potential promise, she is reveals her flair in 'Tuje Katir'.


Vinay Roberts

Another hidden but notable talent is Vinay Roberts. After a string of successes as a vocalist in various competitions in Bangalore, Roberts is now lending his voice to a melodious duet with Jean Braggs. His rich baritone voice is darkly evocative and is hard to miss in this album.


Mohd Iqbal

Konkani Music is not restricted to talents in one community. There are prominent Konkani musical personalities emerging from different communities. What binds them all is our common love for Konkani music and the yearning to take it to a more global audience.

Mohammed Iqbal is already a well known name in music world and with well received song 'Maja maar' from the Konkani movie 'Padri', he needs little introduction. His energetic and vibrant singing has the aptitude to make a crowd go wild.


Wilma Pereira

A well known voice in the Konkani music world, she is the female lead vocalist in a famous band ‘Patma Music'. She has a strong and noteworthy background in Konkani music.


Music

The music in this album will touch your heart. The credit for this goes to Patson Pereira and his team at Patma digitals. Pereira‘s talent fed on the mysteries of music and blossomed in the enrichment of its intricacies. He has added his magic charm to every song and has innovatively ideated the feel of the tracks in correspondence with the album.

His guitar strums touch each song lightly enough to make each track a total musical experience. He has been rightly called the divine magician of the guitar because of the magic he has added to the songs, making them subtly compelling and enthralling.
