Mangaluru: Another 'Milestone' - Kevin Misquith to stage 30th Musical Nite on Dec 14

Media Release

Mangaluru, Dec 9: It was just a few years ago Konkani music saw the emergence of a new music star on its horizon and he has already reached the milestone of 30th successful music concert in a very short span of time. Mangalore is set to host the 30th musical nite of young and very talented performer Kevin Misquith.

Master Plan Events has come forward to host the 30th Kevin Misquith and Milestone live in concert on December 14 at Rosario Cathedral Hall. The proceeds of this event will be donated to Pathadarshini Seva Trust which funds the deserving students in their higher education.

The 30th show will feature old and new compositions of Kevin Misquith, Band Milestone will score the background music. Renowned female singer Munita Vaigas will sing in the show. In addition, 'Pokri Kalakars' will provide rib-tickling comedy and Gavin Rodrigues and his Silver Steppers will add glitz with their scintillating dance numbers. Sheldon Crasta will compere the event.

It is worth mentioning here that Kevin's last year’s 25th musical nite held at St Agnes Special School Grounds had drawn huge crowd from near and far and had enthralled the audience.

From his first show in Mangalore in the year 2007, to the latest show at Nainad in May this year, Kevin Misquith has travelled a long way in a very short span of time. This journey got a good mileage after he formed his own band Milestone in 2009. The young troupe added to the experiments and innovations that Kevin was bringing in his music and the same followed in his successive music concerts. This has made the entire team emerge as one of the best bands in the city, which has been performing in various private and public events. It is noteworthy that their music has not just appealed to regular Konkani music lovers and patrons but also has been well received by the youngsters who are detached from Konkani.

Jackson Noronha, Clyde Lobo, Ashwin Sequeira, Rikith Soans, Royston Pinto and Ian Sachin presently work with Kevin as band Milestone. Kevin Misquith and Milestone together have performed in a number of events which also include quite a few performances to raise funds for charitable causes.

At the age of 17, when Kevin Misquith released his debut album ‘Rupnem’, not many knew of this talented lad. Step by step working his way into the world of Konkani music, he has now become a well-known name among the Konkani folk. If one has heard the songs from his earlier albums – ‘Rupnem’, ‘Tuji Yaad’, ‘Hee Jeen’ and the latest super hit album ‘Thembe Thembe’ one can notice the tremendous improvements that he has brought in his successive releases. From bringing in rich literature to experimenting with new genres, from mellifluous melodies to foot tapping music, ‘Thembe Thembe’ thus turned out to be the most popular albums of the recent times. He is working on the release of his brand new album ‘Ek Geeth’ which is gonna see the light of the day very soon.

As Kevin traverses 30 milestones, he is filled with gratitude for everyone who has helped him reach this stage and looks forward to everyone's continued support and blessings.

The entry for the event is free and all Konakni music lovers are invited to witness this musical extravaganza.

Kevin Misquith is a man of utmost commitment and dedication, his achievements and contribution to konkani community at a very young age through his musical talents speak for it. 30 musical nites in konkani at this youna age is a great achievement by itself and speaks for a persons caliber. I have always admired not only his music but also him as a person. Though talented and successful he has always remained the same way, kind and humble since I saw him in his growing days. At this juncture when he reaches yet another milestone I hope the Mangalorean community will recognize and honor this lad with many more milestones in the coming days.
