Kalburgi, Dec 10: A youth Congress leader has been killed in broad daylight in Kalburgi on Tuesday morning, December 9.
The deceased leader is Mohammed Shabbir (30).
As per the reports, Shabbir who was on a bike was knocked down by a Tavera car near Akashvani Tharanga Kendra on Kalburgi-Jevargi road. Then he was attacked with lethal weapons as well as with gun shots. His friends who tried to save him were also attacked.
Shabbir was riding pillion with Christopher and was on his way to attend a trial in a court. Two other bikes also accompanied him. The assailants fled from the scene in the Tavera car which they later abandoned on the road.
It is claimed that the present murder could be a revenge for the murder of Shamsher which had taken place on February 26.
Of late, Kalburgi has become notorious for murders of public figures.
