SP Dr Sharanappa warns rumour mongers of stern action

Daijiworld Media Network - Beltangady (SP)

Beltangady, Dec 11: Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police (SP), Dr Sharanappa, warned those who use social websites for spreading rumours aimed at vitiating social atmosphere, and those who spread rumours through other modes, of stern steps. He was addressing a press conference at the police station here on Wednesday December 10.

The SP sought cooperation for his department towards regulating crime from the general public. 'Taking law into hand is an unpardonable offence. Committing a crime to tackle another crime is utter stupidity. If the names of the same persons come up in repeated offences, such people will be covered under Goonda Act,' he warned. He also asked the people to check the veracity of any rumours by calling the local police stations before acting upon them.

Referring to cattle trafficking incident at Belalu, the SP said that stealing of cows is a crime. He hastened to add that beating up the theft-accused is also another crime, duly clarifying that cases have been filed against both sides and arrests have been made. He also requested leaders to refrain from inciting innocent people to commit offences. He also clarified that investigation is under way relating to the incident in which stones were pelted at Kanyadi mosque.

Assistant SP, Rahul, police circle inspector, Lingappa Poojary, and Punjalakatte police sub-inspector, Latesh Kumar, were present.

stealing cow is crime no doubt, best option to stop this business is stop eating beef for at least 10 years or government should allow to import beef meat from Australia or Brazil.

SP Said "Stealing of cows is a crime. He hastened to add that beating up the theft-accused is also another crime"

Dear SP, if you catch who steal at first phase there wont be second incident. I hate Bajarang dala, but when our own cattle was stolen then I feel because of BJD atleast few cows saved. Here is not question of holiness of cow, its our property and someone steeling it and leaders supporting them because they are of same community is wrong.

All peace lovers are well aware and no how to follow out religion so no need of any KAPATA SWAMY in the society. This must be informed to all religions disctric level head PRIEST/SWAMY/IMAAM.

yes, arrest all those cattle trafficking culprits first. then other side may get some confidence. But it's not done and you are just claiming you will. So, please act them one side will cool down on the claims they have. similarly, after that , still there is some unwanted instance created by them, then you can act against. At least have some justifiable count of arrests with evidents... then agreed. Before doing anything, please don't get in to warning mode. That's my opinion.
