Belagavi: Congress legislators brand their own ministers careless, arrogant, corrupt

Daijiworld Media Network - Belagavi (SP)

Belagavi, Dec 11: The Congress legislators, who took part enthusiastically in the parliamentary party meeting that was held after a long gap on Wednesday December 10 here, took this opportunity to openly take their ministers to task for inefficiency, apathy, corruption, and getting involved with business of transfers. Sources also said that several legislators, who raised the banner of revolt, also warned in the presence of the chief minister(CM), that they will write to All India Congress Committee, listing out the irregularities, if the wrongdoings do not stop.

After several MLAs expressed their anguish at the functioning of party ministers,Yashwanthpur MLA, S T Somashekhar, directed his attack at minister, Shivaraj Tangadagi. 'Tangadagi, instead of posting an executive engineer suggested by me to my constituency, has transferred an officer who paid him a bribe of three lac rupees. In addition, he also threatened the officer suggested by me of suspension,' he said angrily. 'I have conducted several state level meetings at my own expense at the request of the party, and have remained loyal to the party since long. How can I tolerate if I am treated this way?' he questioned. He also said that neither the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president (AICC) nor the CM have been coming to his rescue on this issue. It is learnt that Somashekhar also threatened to write to AICC if he does not get justice in the issue.

It is said that Siddaramaiah immediately intervened in the matter and sought explanation from the concerned minister on the controversy. He also instructed the minister to cancel the transfer of the other officer, and post the person suggested by the MLA in his place.

It is learnt that Somashekhar also said that when he approached energy minister, D K Shivakumar, for transfer of a Bescom engineer, the minister asked him to approach his brother, D K Suresh, who happens to be an MP. 'I approached D K Suresh, but the favour I sought was not extended. In one case, the chief minister had instructed Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike(BBMP) commissioner to transfer an ARO of BBMP, but because of pressure brought by a minister, this instruction was not obeyed,' he claimed.

Bangarpet MLA, Narayana Swamy, alleged that a coterie of powerful ministers has been created within the ministry, and that these ministers, by entering into an understanding to sanction grants to each other's constituencies, are meting out injustice to other legislators. It is said that he alleged that out of a sum of Rs 235 sanctioned under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund sanctioned to the state, Rs 135 crore had been utilized for the district represented by minister, Shamanur Shivashankarappa with the connivance of PWD minister, Mahadevappa.

Several MLAs including Malikayya Guttedar and Koliwad alleged that some ministers have been demanding bribe ranging between five and eight percent for release of grants. Hungund MLA, Vijayanand Kashappanavar, accused Bagalkot district in-charge minister, S R Patil, of purposefully sidelining him. Guttedar said that the engine (CM) of the government is in good shape, but the compartments (ministers) have rusted. He asked such compartments to be assigned to dustbin and replace them with new ministers like him. He expressed anger at the fact that he was not given a post either in the party, ministry, board, or corporation, in spite of being loyal and senior activist of the party.

Sources said that the chief minister, sensing that the situation was moving towards chaos, cut short the meeting citing shortage of time, duly promising to hold such a meeting in near future.

Just when one does not get his weekly and monthly haftas which he accumulates for his next election expenses one starts the other who is doing well in collections about corruption. Evening they will make out of hall settlements about how to share the loot and it will be happy happy tomorrow.

Why were these MLAs sleeping for more than one year and waiting for this summit to air their grievances?

These useless MLAs seem to be absent during the Assembly sessions doing their own monkey business in their constituencies since more than a year.

How come they didn't raise these issues with the CM since long and why the CM was sleeping so long without evaluating the performances of these chor ministers, in spite of Diggy Singh and others calling out for a strict periodic assessment of works done by these lazy ministers for so long??

Congress has taken the voters for granted when they got an overwhelming majority in the last assembly election.

I would challenge any Congi legislators to face election right away and get even a single vote from the frustrated voters in Karnataka.

This goes to all the lazy ministers, MPs, and MLAs of coastal region as well.

    Amith,
CONgress has mastered the art of looting.
while BJP does it with noise, CONgress does it stealthily.
Another plus point of CONgress is that all their leaders share their loot with some people unlike some BJP leaders who eat their loot alone.

These legislators should be given tips by
    1. A.Raja: On how tho 'Khaa' and 'Jaa' Eat and Go that is.

    2. S. Kalmaadi: His 'Gobbunagala Tinnodu' theory... Meaning 'Eat' While You Play Also' theory and go scot free.

3.S. Pawar: 'Kuch Bhi Ho Yaar-Khaao Baar Baar' Whatever happens
eat however and wherever you can'.

Then these legislators can get their P H D in corruption and will
    never fight each other!

All of us know how the corrupt Congress won by default in Karnataka, only because of split in opposition votes! However that said & done last 15 months have been very poor administration by the party...

They are still behaving like opposition party & there is absolutely no LAW & ORDER in the state & particularly in Bengaluru! The ATM attacker of last year is STILL NOT CAUGHT!!

The mis administration, lacksaidical approach by Niddramiah & bad performance by ministers, total lack of control will see downfall of this Govt ASAP

This is the reality....This is only a small percentage of their real job after getting elected....!If you come to know the full job of these so called leaders, you will be amazed...This is not limited to one particular party...All of them are corrupt.
DO YOU THINK THEY BECOME MLA'S AND M.P'S TO SERVE THE COUNTRY..? SORRY YOU ARE WRONG...THEY WANT TO MAKE EASY MONEY.
Underworld leaders collect haftha ...its their business. Police collect hafthaa, because they are lowly paid. Politicians also collect hafthaa from dealers, bar owners, and from many others even from the police...! Because they are the beggars without identity...!Sorry they are not beggars...THEY ARE LOOTERS....!Arwind Kejriwal rightly pointed out these qualities of these politicians and he is paying for that...I wish one day this man wearing monkey cap and coughing continuously wielding his broom clear all..these dirt in politics..Bhandarkar Maam, please give us you support.....!
