Mangalore's First Internet TV on Your Way...
Dubai, Nov 27: The Internet is a fast-growing segment of the media, and as it grew, along with the Internet there came countless innovations to mankind.
Though the Internet fever hit Mangalore only towards the late 1990s, the innovation in Mangalorean media came after the emergence of Daijiworld.com (or formerly known as daijidubai.com) in 2001. The website was started with the intention of promoting only Konkani language and culture though, its popularity has forced us to bring in more and more innovations.
Having decided to cross the boundaries three years ago, we first grew beyond the concept of 'only Konkani' and spread our wings to other communities and languages too. By the time we made our strong presence in Mangalore, we made forays into Maharastra, Goa and other parts of the Konkan Coast. And today with the good will and patronage of over 100,000 readers, daijiworld has reached far higher than what we expected while launching.
We have always set the standards to inspire others. The popularity and reach of daijiworld has encouraged many others to create their own portals for different causes.
Establishing Mangalore firmly on the world map was always our dream; we toed in line with the march of technology and brought new topics and features from time to time.
It can be easily surmised that over half-a-million potential Mangalorean Internet users are spread abroad. A major share of this base is in the Gulf and the rest are in North America, Europe, Australia and other continents. NRI Mangaloreans need a TV Channel, but anyone trying to set up Mangalore's own TV through satellite could burn his own fingers, as things stand.
In this backdrop, daijiworld felt the need of digital TV for the benefit of its readers, and, in this fast-growing Internet era, a TV channel on the desktop is very much feasible, why absolutely a must. The Internet TV trend is picking up very fast and we Mangaloreans should not be lagging behind in this.
Daijiworld is very proud to announce Mangalore's first Internet TV Channel 'TV daijiworld' and also Internet radio station 'Radio Daijiworld' in the coming weeks. As the set-up process has been set in motion and a test transmission successfully carried out, the formal announcement will be made very soon.
Initially, the TV will run only for a few minutes a day, but can be accessible anytime during the day on demand. Eventually the time slot will keep on increasing and by the time our viewers feel satisfied with the quality we will beam live events from Mangalore to the world.
A round-the-clock on-line TV channel is our dream, and we hope, dear reader, with your support, this dream will come true soon.
Daijiworld is also pleased to announce the commissioning of its own dedicated server, based in USA. The inconvenience to some readers, felt all this time during heavy traffic time, will thus be totally eliminated through this change.
Many youngsters are set to join daijiword, taking daijiworld media as their career. While we welcome them, we must say Daijiworld's growing Team in Mangalore has got ready to take new challenges.
The success of TVMangalore concept will help us to start the webcast from Mumbai, Bangalore, Goa and all parts of the Gulf countries during the following months. But surely in the coming days, we promise important newsclips and major event clips to our readers on their desktop.
Career opportunities:
Daijiworld invites young and dynamic journalists from Mangalore or even those based in other parts of the world but who are willing to be the part of Daijiworld Group in Mangalore, to join our evergrowing team. Remuneration and other excellent facilities, commensurate with merit, will be offered to the right candidates who are willing to join on long-term basis. Contact us on email: mangalore@daijiworld.com
