Udupi: State level Karate Championship 2014 to be held on Dec 13

Udupi, Dec 12: Kubudo Budocon Karate is one of the famous martial arts. There is a Karate training center running since 1994, located at Udyavar. Ravi Kumar is the Karate teacher. At around 100 teachers are working under this training center throughout the country.

The troop had participated in various competitions namely World’s 15th international championship. Now it has thousands of young people learning the art of self-defense. It has produced more than 10,000 students and its members have bagged numerous medals in Regional, State, National and International Karate Championships.




Grand master Richard Show and B Paramesh are the Karate trainer of Asia. They have branches in various places like Byndoor, Kundapur, Mulky, Bangalore and other Gulf countries.

The Karate team will be participating in national level competition, which will be held on December 27, 28 and 29 at Koyamuttur.

The 9th inter-branch State level Karate Championship -2014 of Karate Budocon Karate, Udupi (Karate Budocon International Australia), will be organized at Rajangana, Shrikrishna Mutt, Udupi, at 12.00 pm on December 13.

The inauguration would be held with the blessings of Vidyavallabhatheertha Swamiji, Paryaya Kaniyur Mutt Udupi and with the holy presence Laxmivartheertha Swamiji, Shiroor Mutt.

Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj will preside over the programme. Chief guests are K Raghupati Bhat, former MLA, Savitha S Kotian, president of ZP, SP Rajendra Prasad and others will be present here.

The grand championship winners and runners up prizes will be given away by Yashpal Suvarna and Vilas Nayak on second day of the event.
