Mumbai, Nov 29: Former Test cricketer Hanumant Singh passed away on Wednesday. Singh, 67, was diagnosed with dengue and a hepatitis virus. He was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital here on November 6 and has been kept in the intensive care unit since then.
Singh, nephew of Ranjitsinhji and also known as Maharajkumar of Banswara, made a century on Test debut against England at Delhi in 1964.
In 14 Tests, he scored 686 runs at 31.13 but had a much better record in first-class cricket with 12,338 runs from 207 matches at 43.90 for Madhya Bharat and Rajasthan.
Singh also served as chairman of National Cricket Academy in 2000-01.
