Mangaluru: Sri Rama Sena holds rally against cow slaughter, pledges to protect cattle

Mangaluru, Dec 15: Sri Rama Sena organized a campaign rally for protection of cattle and against cow slaughtering under the slogan 'Nannanu Ulisi' (Save Me) here on Monday December 15.

The rally commenced from Ambedkar Circle and culminated near DC's office.

Addressing the protest, Mahesh Koppa, SRS south province president said, "Sri Rama Sena has once again emerged as a powerful organization in the district. Sri Rama Sena is the only organization with a strong voice of Hindutva in 12 states of the nation. Sri Rama Sena will function to form strong Hindu samaj, and strive against cattle slaughter, terrorism, conversion, and Love Jihad.

"Cattle is divine to Hindus. The government should save the cattle and ban cow slaughter. Sri Rama Sena is ready to stop cow slaughter and cattle trafficking. The Sena activists are ready to stop cattle trafficking with swords and are ready to burn their vehicles. Sri Rama Sena has extended its branches in 26 districts across various states," he said.

Dr Krishnaraj Mudugere, in his address said, "In India, cattle is a farmer's wealth. We should come forward to protect the cattle. If you protect the cow it will protect you. In day to day life, cow has been useful to man because of its products like milk and manure. People should make up their minds and nurture cows in their houses."

Shailesh Holla of Kamadhenu Trust, Bengaluru in his address said, "After Independence cattle breeding in India is declining. We should protect the cattle."

On this occasion Sri Rama Sena activists took oath to save the cattle.

Praveen Valke, Sri Rama Sena's state chief secretary, Ananad Shetty Adyar, Sri Rama Sena's divisional president, Savitha Ranganath, Sri Rama Sena's women's wing chief and sevaral swamijis and religious heads from north and south India took part in this occasion.

Sudath Jain Shirthady compered. Sri Rama Sena activists and a few Naga Sadhus submitted memorandum to deputy commissioner.

These guys are extortionists who will protest against Cattle traders in the day time and collect money from Cattle traders for smooth passage at night.

You will find half of these waste bodies in restaurants after 8 P.M with a Quarter and Beef sukka.

Has it occurred to you that when 15% and 2.5 % people cook and eat beef in their houses, then who are those who eat it secretly in restaurants????

Don’t think that Christens are celebrating Christmas because of beef. For us beef or any kind of the meat is not important to celebrate any events. Even any religion celebrating their feast not because of beef. We need peace in our society not enmity we love one another that our Lord Jesus teaches us. We are not hurting anyone.
I also celebrated many festivals with my Hindu colleague. I didn’t offer / told them to eat beef or any other kind of the meat. First of all, I myself not eating beef.

Please don’t comment such kind of hatred and enmity. You also living / working other country. You must learn that how many kind / type of the people are there around you. Don’t think that your religion only great religion because of you are not eating beef. Try to adjust with other community people. If you really want to take care cows, then stop drinking cow’s milk. Milk is looks like white, but it is really blood of cow. You people don’t have right to drink cow’s milk. That is belong to his child calf.

I don’t see or feel enmity in my comments here else I would have got more disagree than agree. I think it’s all about your mentality how you read it. Take it and read it as fun you can enjoy it every day as Christmas else your mind will be spoiled as usual. For your kind info….if we allow calf to drink entire cow milk beyond one or two months… calf will fall sick and die soon do you know that? I don’t know the exact reason for that but it is true. we have come a long way from broad minded spiritualists to narrow minded and self-confined fundamentalists...

accorning to NO classical hindu text/scripture cow is worshipped...however, it was tought to value every life since in life exists divinity...

however, the socio-economic life of ancient and medievel India was often revolving around the concept of primary activities of agriculture and cattle herding...

And in this context, as we analyse, we see that d value of cow/bull, in a greater perspective is much higher than the absolute value of their meet these animals being used in farming, most housefolds raised dem for milk and related products, animal wastes being a good manure for organic farming and to satisfy the energy requirements of a rural economy....
To kill an animal/categories of animals with these many values for meet is really uneconomic.

But, it would be an obvious blunder to acknowledge and educate every individual on this matter...
Considering that, the easiest and simplest solution would be to bring religion into picture and hence giving divine status to cows, which, in the present day scenario is of absolutely no use...

and people still say, "according to Indian/Hindu mythology/culture cows are worshipped and should not be killed..."
every day 100s of humans are killed, are their lives any less important than that of cows in the name of which a good share of these political assaults and communal riots spark in....???
Hinduism’s greatest propagator Swami Vivekanand said thus: “You will be surprised to know that according to ancient Hindu rites and rituals, a man cannot be a good Hindu who does not eat beef”. (The Complete Works of Swami Vivekanand, vol.3, p. 536). during vedic era animal sacrifices were common in many sects and it only follows dat non-vegetarianism was also in existence.
However, it is also mentioned in the vedas as well as the holy text of Gita, that it is always good to remain veg...mostly because of the health (not just physical) related aspects and to teach ppl to value and respect life in every form so dat no ego of superiority props in.
Now, there were shaivic sects, which still existing away from mainstream society, whose dieties are of slightly darker nature according to conventional believes.
And the followers of these sects consume not only non-veg, but even animal/human/self waste. Perceptional definitions and explanations can be given to each of these acts.
Shaktism also uses uses animal sacrifice of most terrifying kinds in some of it's tantric methodology....

To sum up, you are what you eat...so it is you who should decide what you eat. And this is what the culture of Hinduism is. It inculcates a freedom of thought, logic and rationality and never just blind following.

Cow's milk belongs to the calf and no one has the right to rob the calf from its mothers milk. Human race over the years have evolved ways to exploit the calf's lifeline and now talk about protecting the cows. Cows/cattle are divine to Hindus. We worship them.
But that is not the only reason Hindus rear cows. It is for milk, but of course there is bonding that develops which is beyond material gains.

We don’t eat beef. The problem started with 'stealing' of cows. The govt. should open legal slaughter houses, ensure cattle are transported in a humane way and butchered with some sympathy.
If everything is done legally, i dont think there will be any problems.

As long as one section of people want to earn their living by easy money, there will be clashes and communal disharmony in this part of India.

my neighbor in Bangalore who come upper caste had cows at his house from whom we use to buy milk. When the cows grow old he used to send it doddi, later when I grew up and visited the doddi it was nothing a butcher place where they sell it.Rama sena should not be tolerated.

In addition to law Central govt also must take steps to stop cow/bufallo export for slaughter.

On a serious note, I wish to take second opinion or clarification from my fellow hindu brothers (aka parivar members) that - Is the Godly status for cow is valid only within the land of Hindustan's or it extends across the globe.
I need a serious answer..., coz if the godly status of cow don't change outside Hindustan then we all must make a request to UN through our honorable PM NAMO to Cow as God & to restrain all countries from slaughtering cow for beef.

GOD gave us the free use of the plants and animals of this Earth. He said, "Eat and drink of the good things of the Earth." He also said, "It is Allah Who has provided you livestock of every kind. You can ride some kinds and others you eat..." (40:79) But we must balance our use of animals and plants with our primary role as a caretaker on the Earth.

For example, we are not allowed to harm animals or plants for no reason. The Blessed Prophet forbade people from capturing baby birds, burning ant hills and whipping animals cruelly. All the people he stopped from doing these things were doing them "for fun." Well, as the Prophet pointed out, it wasn't fun for the animals.
If we use animals for our work, we must feed them and not over work them. If we eat animals we are supposed to slaughter the animals according to Dhabiha rules which prevent all cruelty to animals and if we have them as pets we are to feed them and care for them

Animals and other living things were created by Allah, the Lord of the Universe. They have their own independent existences and modes of living

There is the real confusion faced with some people. GOD gave us the plants and the animals to be consumed.

If I teach my children that roaches are sacred and don't kill them, if they won't think for themselves and relating the same old teaching from generations to generations, then my great-great-grandchildren will be living with the roaches at home as if pleasing the "roaches god".
In various religions, there are many such man-made teachings of deity worship and the people are afraid of questioning those things due to the fear of some divine punishment.
