Kasargod: School principal ends life in lodge

Kasargod, Dec 16: In a tragic incident, a school principal ended his life in a lodge in the town by hanging himself. The incident came to light on Monday December 15 evening.

E P Shashidharan (55) from Taliparamba, who was the principal of Tagore Vidyaniketan in Taliparamba, chose to commit suicide in this way.

He had hired a room in a lodge located near the new bus stand here on Sunday. His body was found hanging inside the room on Monday evening.

The staff of the lodge grew suspicious at the fact that Shashidharan had not come out of his room since he occupied it. Upon peeping through the window, they found that his body was hanging from a rope.

The police were sounded about the incident. The policemen from the town station here arrived on the spot and broke open the door of the room. They found Shashidharan dead.

Shashidharan had earlier functioned as the headmaster of Alampady government school here. He had been transferred to Taliparamba two years back. His body was shifted to the mortuary of the district general hospital here.

Reason behind this suicide are not yet known. Police have begun investigation.
