Mangaluru, Dec 16: Cake lovers in the city had an opportunity to interact with the famous Guinness world record holder chef Velmurgan at Forum Fiza Mall on Sunday, December 14. Scores of people, mostly women, gathered and had a long interactive session with the chef.

The session began with the introduction of the chefs by Samad Suratkal of Just Bake outlets in Mangaluru.

Chefs Sukumar, Tanvir and Velmurgan conducted the session.

Samarth also mentioned the awards received by Just Bake at various times. "In 2009, Just Bake got an award for the longest cake in India. In 2010, an award for the largest jungle cake in Asia, and in 2011, a Guinness book record for the largest fruit cake at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru. Recently on auto rickshaw day, we prepared a cake as big as the size of an auto rickshaw in Bengaluru."

Chef Tanvir showed how to bake a raspberry cake. He also answered questions and explained point by point as to how to bake a cake.

Chef Tanvir also showed how to make flower with the help of cream, butter paper and nozzle.

Then it was time for Chef Velmurgan to show his skills with a beautiful Barbie doll cake.

Chef Velmurgan used three cakes to bake the Barbie doll cake. An actual Barbie doll was used. The Barbie doll was half dipped into the cake and edges were cut in 'A' shape to look like a gown. Once the edges were cut, white cream and light yellow cream were added. Then flowers were placed on the gown and embroidery was done with strawberry cream. The gown was ready and gel was applied to cover the upper part of the barbie doll. He also made necklace with the help of the gel and the Barbie doll cake was ready in 30 minutes.

Most husbands are very good Chefs. However this is kept under lid and nobody knows what or who is cooking in a household. The day a man marries his goose is said to be cooked. So they say.
    Is it not?

'Scores of people...mostly women'....the article states.
    Observations:
    1. All women.
    2. All look 'amply' fed.
    3. if they are all there, who cooks at home? No guesses.
    4. They just write down the recipes.
    5. Good' Dish' books are mostly dished out by females.Their hubbies 'dish' it out for them at home in most cases.
    Is it not?
