Dubai: Herald Mathias elected president of USWAS

Dubai, Dec 16: Herald Mathias, an active Shirva parishioner, residing in Dubai, has been elected the president of USWAS (UAE’s St Mary’s Welfare Association, Shirva).

In a recently held meeting in Dubai, the committee members of USWAS gathered to elect the new managing committee for the year 2015.

The meeting started at 7 pm with the prayer. President Denis Mathias welcomed all the committee members. After the election the outgoing office-bearers thanked all the committee members and the members of USWAS for their cooperation and requested all to work together for better unity and to strengthen the Association.

Newly-elected president Herald Mathias requested all the committee members for their full cooperation and assured to do his best for the unity and to continue the good work.


The following office-bearers were elected:

President : Herald Mathias
Vice-president : Ronald Corea
Secretary : Diana D'Souza
Joint secretary : Sandeep Saldanha
Treasurer : Oscar Rego
Auditor : Nithin Castelino
Cultural secretary : Roshan Menezes
Sports Secretary : Manoj Menezes
Media Rep : Lesly Saldanha

Committee advisors: Vincent Corda, Paul Menezes, Ivan Mathias, Denis Gomes, Nelson Castelino, Denis Mathias, Canute D’Souza

Cultural team : Sharan D'Souza, Claud Dleema, Laveena Menezes, Laveena Tauro
Sports team : Vilma Saldanha, Joel Tauro, Richard Pinto, Maxim Ferrao
Public relation : Prasanth Sequeira


To celebrate its 13 years of existence, USWAS will celebrate 'Shirva Fest-2015' on February 13 at Sheraton Deira Hotel from 6.30 pm to 10.30 pm. It is an annual event of the association and will be open to all. More details to be announced soon.
