Mangaluru, Dec 17: The annual day and Christmas celebration of Spandana Trust, Infant Mary’s Convent, Jeppu was held on December 14,2014. It was the day of preparation of Jesus coming.

The celebration began with a procession of chief guest Mahabala Marla, Mayor of Muncipal Corporation, President Sr Sylvia Fernandes, superior of Infant Mary’s convent Jeppu, Fr Oswald Monteiro, CODP director, Harini, president of federation of Self Help Groups and Sr Evangeline, administrator of Spandana Trust, were welcomed by a musical band.

The program began with prayer dance. Sr. Evangeline welcomed the gathering and felicitated them. A report of the activities of Spandana Trust was read out by Theertha, social worker.


















The chief guest in his speech stressed that those who do good deeds only celebrate Christmas in a true way. One should hear the voice of conscience work towards the empowerment of children in the field of health and education. He praised the good work done by the trust for the poor and needy.

Christmas message was given by Fr Oswald Monteiro. He said that through the helping hand you can meet Jesus. He congratulated the trust personnel for their good work and also said that they really meet Jesus.

Sr Sylvia Fernandes opined that no relation than the mother, no taste other than salt. She stressed that woman is a strength. Everyone should utilize all the facilities provided.

All the winners in the competition were awarded with prizes.

Shymala and Linet D’Souza compered the program. Vote of thanks was given by Victor Vas co-ordinator. About 3000 people irrespective of caste and creed attended the programme without any discrimination.
