Mangaluru, Dec 17: An unfortunate accident which occurred at Sharbatkatte near Karnataka Polytechnic here snuffed the life of an elderly gentleman, who was riding a scooter. Damodar Kottary Kudroli (65), a resident of Gurunagara (west) near Maryhill in the city, died after his scooter skidded on Tuesday December 16.
Kottary used to work for a shop dealing in electrical goods in the city. He was going in his scooter to his workplace at around 9 am, when his scooter skidded near Sharbatkatte, due to which he was thrown on to the road.
He was taken to a private hospital in the city. Although efforts were made to save him, he passed away on Tuesday evening. Damodar Kottary has left behind wife, and two daughters.
A case was registered relating to this incident at traffic (east) police station.
