Sushmita announces second edition of Jabong fashion week

New Delhi, Dec 19 (IANS): Former beauty queen and actress Sushmita Sen Friday launched the second edition of Jabong Online Fashion Week and also announced the jury for the event.

Nandani Nhalla, Noyonika Chatterjee, Varun Bahl, Vidya Tikari, Lubna Adams and Colston Julian will be on the judges panel.

With its second season, the online fashion portal aims to provide a platform to young talents in the age group of 18 to 38 years, from cities across the country in fields like designing, modelling, hairstyling, make-up and fashion photography.

The 39-year-old fashion icon, who donned an all pink ensemble for the event, said it's a unique platform for the young talents who hardly get any stage to express themselves and their creations.

“India has enormous talent in each and every part of it. A diamond remains a diamond. You just need to polish it. So Jabong is doing that job. They are giving a stage from where these young gems can really make their life perfect,” Sushmita said.

“Under this edition the jury will work together to motivate people across India to come and learn various new things regarding their respective fields,” she added.

In the first edition, the winners were models Ritu Chauhan De and Ravi Goswami as well as designer Sidharth K. Kakkar.

“The idea and intent of this edition is aimed at providing the fraternity an online platform to showcase their respective talents. It's an opportunity for the youngsters to enhance their knowledge under the guidance of stalwarts of the industry,” Prakash Sinha, MD and founder, Jabong.com, said at the conference.
