Puttur: Pillion rider dies after bike hits electric pole

Puttur, Dec 20: In an accident which occurred at Berike in Nekkilady village on Uppinangady-Puttur road on Thursday December 18, the pillion rider was killed on the spot, while the rider got admitted into a hospital with serious injuries. It is gathered that the rider lost control over the vehicle and hit an electric pole when moving through Berike.

The deceased has been identified as Hussain, a native of Shirahatti in Gadag district. He was presently living in Tenkila in the town. The seriously injured rider is Manish from Uttar Pradesh. Both were engaged in the work of fixing tiles for buildings. They were returning to the town after completing the day's work at Uppinangady, when the accident occurred.
