Mangaluru, Dec 20: The team of 'Chaali Polilu' is enjoying an early gift this festive season. The movie has completed 50 successful days in 5 housefull theatres simultaneously. The much-loved Tulu comedy flick has won the hearts of everyone who has had the opportunity to watch it. 'Chaali Polilu' is also successfully running in Mumbai since 3 weeks and the crowds thronging to watch the movie are showing no sign of abating. This film is also the first Tulu Movie which has seen successful running of 4 weeks in Bengaluru.
For the first time in the history of Tulu Film Industry, a movie has continued its speedy success for more than 7 weeks and is still continuing. 'Chaali Polilu' has just completed 50 days in housefull theatres all over Udupi and Mangaluru. This has never happened for any Tulu movie before, said the movie team addressing a press meet here.
The production banner Jaya Kirana Films and the team of 'Chaali Polilu', including the cast marked the success of 'Chaali Polilu' amidst much fanfare and celebration. 'Chaali Polilu' has been in demand and is much loved especially by the youth everywhere. Additionally, 'Chaali Polilu' is also a complete family comedy entertainer and is suitable for viewing for all ages. The movie will release in many more locations in the coming days, and the public will be informed soon.
The movie, produced by Prakash Pandeshwar and directed by Veerendra Shetty, has collected well over Rs 1.66 crore, breaking all box-office records in places like Karkala, Beltangady, Moodbidri and Puttur.
In the coming days, the movie will be specially screened for school children in Jyoti theatre at reduced prices.
The movie has exceeded all expections in terms of reception. Presently, it is being screened every Sunday in Mumbai theatres, where it is running housefull.
The movie will also be released in Delhi and abroad.
The star cast including Devdas Kapikaad, Navin D Padil, and Bhojraj Vamanjoor and others were present at the press meet.
