Rihanna's dad escorted out of her Diamond Ball

Los Angeles, Dec 20 (IANS): Singer Rihanna's alcoholic father Ronald Fenty was escorted out of a recent Diamond Ball for his drunk behaviour. He had promised his famous daughter that he had got rid of his habit.

Rihanna has been trying to save Fenty from his drinking demons for the past year, and she even put him through an expensive rehabilitation program in Malibu. But all her hard work went up in smoke Dec 11 as her star-studded charity party was reduced to farce before she even arrived, reports dailymail.co.uk.

In a chat with Fenty at his Beverly Hills hotel, the 61-year-old spoke about how Rihanna put him through a $58,000 Malibu rehab program last year to save him from jail after he was arrested during a previous visit to California.

Fenty, who posed for red carpet photos with Rihanna's mother, Monica, before he was told to leave, said: "I had Johnny Walker Black. I had two doubles man and tripped over a chair. I had been on the (red) carpet for the pictures, I meet a couple of famous people I knew, go and talked with them, and then somebody left a chair and I stepped back and fell over.

"I saw my ex (Monica) lo ok up, and within a few minutes after the picture was taken, security came up and said 'we're taking you home'. I said 'but I haven't seen my daughter yet'… and they said 'don't matter man'. They said 'please do not make a scene, it will reflect on your daughter'."

Rihanna was yet to arrive at the venue and Ronald suspects it was her mother who spotted him drinking and had him removed.

"When I got back I picked up a bottle of Johnny Walker Black, had a couple and went to sleep," Fenty added.
