Mangaluru, Dec 20: “Whenever we give back to the society what we have earned, then only the real celebration of Christmas begins”, said Mangaluru press club president Ramakriashna R.

He was addressing the Christmas celebration, as a chief guest at D K Zilla Higher Primary Kannada medium school Padavu Bikarnakatte, on Saturday, December 20.

The Christmas celebration was organized by St Christopher association at the school premises.

“Kannada medium is looked down upon by many considering it for poor children which is a wrong idea because money is not everything. Real wealth is in the rich heart which understands others pain and responds”, he added.

On the occasion, he cut the Christmas cake and distributed among children of the school on behalf of the association.

The president of the function and the president of St Christopher association, Raymond D’cunha said, “We studied in the Kannada medium and we are proud of it. Children should not feel bad because they study in the Kannada medium school”.

Speaking to the children, he said, “You are the future of the nation”.

The president also narrated the history of the association on the occasion.

The head teacher of the school Rajivi welcomed and Herald D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Teacher Shanti compered. The vice-president Francis D’Souza and Leena were on the stage. Dennis D’Souza was dressed as Santa and entertained the gathering.

Teacher Gretta and other association members also played important role in making the programme a success.
