Mangaluru: VHP to launch state-wide stir demanding CM's resignation

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (DV)

Mangaluru, Dec 20: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will hold massive protests next week against the state government for its 'anti-Hindu' policies and demand the resignation of chief minister Siddaramaiah, said M B Puranik, Karnataka province working president of VHP.

Addressing a press meet in VHP office here on Friday, December 20, Puranik said, "The state government is following anti-Hindu policies by withdrawing the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill 2010 and the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation (Amendment) Bill 2012. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal strongly condemn this."

Expressing concerns that cattle breeding has been declining in the state, he said, "Cattle are the source of agricultural income which strengthens economy. Moreover, cow is sacred for Hindus. To appease the minorities, the Congress government in the state has withdrawn the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill 2010 and Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation (Amendment) Bill 2012.

The state government make it clear to the public that Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 1964 still exists. The government should strengthen this Act," he further said.

"We condemn Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowment (Amendment) Bill 2014. If there are complaints against Maths, they should be settled in the courts or through Hindu parishads. Maths should not be handed over to the government. If it is done, it will be against the article 22 of the Indian Constitution," he added.

"We will hold massive protest campaigns throughout the state against the government's anti-Hindu policies, demanding CM Siddaramaiah’s resignation," said Puranik. However, he did not specify the dates of the protests. The VHP press release states that the protests would be held next week.

Krishnamurthy, provincial joint secretary of VHP, Sharan Pumpwell, coordinator of Bajrang Dal and Kateel Dinesh Pai among others were present.

C'mon guys let VHP express their opinion. What's need to counter them with venom? Have they surprised you? Were you expecting them to react any differently? They are merely exercising their right to free speech.
Ban on cow slaughter is a non-starter especially when there is high demand for beef. Its a fact everybody knows. It's just that beef is highly sought after by all communities. Some for diet and others, food for politics. I wish Siddu also showed some maturity and foresight trying to balance the latest withdrawal of bill with some measures to boost production of cattle thereby addressing the supply side of the problem coupled with some stringent measures against cattle lifting. By merely withdrawing the bill he has played into the hands of BJP and VHP which means the intent, the timing (furor in Rajya Sabha regarding conversion) of bill withdrawal are all suspects. Bottom line: Cow slaughter bill is equally potent political tool for Congress as it is for BJP. Neither cares for the cows or how tasty the meat is.

    - He should resign, for not bringing Indian economy on track, even after 6 months rule (as he promised).
    - He should resign, for not creating 1 crore jobs for youths, as promised.
    - He should resign, for not able to control rape and crime rate in nations capital Delhi (he used to mock Sheela Dixit earlier).

    The scientific facts

A team at the university of Hannover in Germany examined these claims through the use of EEG and ECG records during slaughter. Several electrodes were surgically implanted at various points of the skull of all the animals used in the experiment and they were then allowed to recover for several weeks. Some of the animals were subsequently slaughtered the halal way by making a swift, deep incision with a sharp knife on the neck, cutting the jugular veins and carotid arteries of both sides together with the trachea and esophagus but leaving the spinal cord intact. The remainder were stunned before slaughter using a captive bolt pistol method as is customary in Western slaughterhouses. The EEG and ECG recordings allowed to monitor the condition of the brain and heart throughout.

    The Halal method

With the halal method of slaughter, there was not change in the EEG graph for the first three seconds after the incision was made, indicating that the animal did not feel any pain from the cut itself. This is not surprising. Often, if we cut ourselves with a sharp implement, we do not notice until some time later. The following three seconds were characterised by a condition of deep sleep-like unconciousness brought about by the draining of large quantities of blood from the body. Thereafter the EEG recorded a zero reading, indicating no pain at all, yet at that time the heart was still beating and the body convulsing vigorously as a reflex reaction of the spinal cord. It is this phase which is most unpleasant to onlookers who are falsely convinced that the animal suffers whilst its brain does actually no longer record any sensual messages.

    The Western method

Using the Western method, the animals were apparently unconscious after stunning, and this method of dispatch would appear to be much more peaceful for the onlooker. However, the EEG readings indicated severe pain immediately after stunning. Whereas in the first example, the animal ceases to feel pain due to the brain starvation of blood and oxygen – a brain death, to put it in laymen’s terms – the second example first causes a stoppage of the heart whilst the animal still feels pain. However, there are no unsightly convulsions, which not only means that there is more blood retention in the meat, but also that this method lends itself much more conveniently to the efficiency demands of modern mass slaughter procedures. It is so much easier to dispatch an animal on the conveyor belt, if it does not move.

we are not doing any Go hatya, we are just sacrificing it for the sake of food. and for us it's not compulsory to eat beef, before making it halal we need to feed him drink him look after him nicely. before slaughtering we should not show knife to the animal. and if the animal is violent or it's sick, we don't slaughter it.

Gujarat produced 22,000 tonnes of meat in 2010-11 against 10,600 tonnes of meat in 2001-02. With 39 abattoirs, which slaughters over 1,000 animals a day, Gujarat is amongst the top 10 States in India in terms of the number of slaughterhouses.

Do VHP leaders man enough to ask PM to resign.

The major issue which should concern the people is theft of the cows in and around Mangalore. Govt. should act with iron hand to stop all the elements in the society who assist the theft of the innocent cows. If cows are not safe how can Govt. ensure the safety of the citizens?

Govt. should also come up with proper mechanism to facilitate the trade of cows and also increase the supply by encouraging the cattle farming.

Wat anna, Rape is a Horrifying crime and The person who does it is a sick Individual, I don't understand, how a person can stop rape unless a Policeman follows every man in the Country. It is a Sick and shameful and Hateful act.
A young child was raped in Gujarat as well. This is done by a sick individual, Not by any Minister

If these people concentrate on their own business than it will be helpful to them and this will not effect on agricultural income.
Every day protest is a sign of exposing own preparation towards the act of communal play. Most of the Hindus are prefer beaf all over the world. In Saudi Arabia you can see the biggest exporter of meat from India is a Hindu.

This was awaited. All the past few weeks(months) drama was not for nothing.
Create an agitation statewide and challenge the democratically elected government, just because your desired party needs to be in power, to let you go with your monkey games.

For democracy to suffer, we do not need external hand, internal arms are enough.
