Kundapur, Dec 20: The 14th annual day celebration of Green Valley National School and PU College, Shiroor was held at its school premises, on Friday, December 19.

The principal of the institution, John Mathew, delivered the introductory address and welcomed the gathering.

Addressing the students, chief guest of the function, Dr NK Narayana Shetty, principal Bhandarkar College, Kundapur said, “Education should help to create leaders not followers. Our education system is the best and we can't just blame it on the education system if the students fail to live up to the expectation. Parents and students are also responsible for achieving their goals in life”.

Guest of honour, Dr Bhaskar Shetty BEO Byndoor, stressed on developing the skills for employment through education.
Prof Dr BS Sherigar, former vice-chancellor, Kuvempu University said, “The dignity of the school is judged by its clean environment of the campus and the rich culture. I am deeply impressed by the way the management has maintained the school discipline and surroundings”.

He also congratulated the management of GVNS for completing 14 years in the field of education.

The stage programme was followed by variety entertainment and cultural programmes presented by students. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various cultural competitions.

Students, staff and parents were present on the annual day of the school and PU College.
