Item songs in films a trend now, says Arbaaz

Mumbai, Dec 21 (IANS): Arbaaz Khan's film productions like "Dabangg" and "Dabangg 2" had hit item numbers, and the actor-filmmaker says including such tracks in movies is now trending.

Arbaaz told reporters in a group interview: "It's become a trend now, but I put item songs in my films depending on the subject of the film. Maybe, I will not put an item number in my next film. You never know."

"It all has to go well with the subject. We call it as item number. I don't like these tags. For me, music plays an important role," he added.

Arbaaz is currently busy promoting his next production "Dolly Ki Doli" featuring Sonam Kapoor in the lead.

There were reports that Sonakshi Sinha, who starred in both parts of "Dabangg", was considered for the forthcoming film.

Arbaaz said that Sonakshi "was considered for this film".

"We had many names. We had to see availability of actresses. We also considered Sonam while scripting. We wanted someone as young as possible for this film," he added.
