Mangaluru: Ayyappa devotee electrocuted

Mangaluru, Dec 21: Sushith Shetty (21) from Mannagudda was electrocuted on the night of Friday Dec 19 at Yekkur near Bajpe here. Shetty, an ardent Ayyappa devotee, had been preparing for the annual pilgrimage to Sabarimala, and was following austerities connected with it.

Shetty had gone to Yekkur to help in making arrangements for the upcoming annual festival of Ayyappa Bhakta Vrinda there. When working for the function, he accidentally came in contact with live wire, and was electrocuted. Although arrangements were made to immediately to shift the injured Shetty to hospital, he died before medical attention could be extended.

Shetty was working as salesman for a private concern in the city. A report relating to the incident stands filed in rural police station here.
