Lance Bass marries Michael Turchin

Los Angeles, Dec 21 (IANS): Former N Sync band member Lance Bass married his partner Michael Turchin here.

The ceremony took place at Park Plaza Hotel on Saturday, reports people.com.

"We love each other so much," said Bass of his new partner, whom he met almost four years ago at a friend's birthday celebration.

Wedding planner Sharon Sacks organised a ceremony with a wedding party that included supermodel flower girls and the couple's three dogs, but also incorporated classic traditions from Bass's southern Baptist upbringing and Turchin's Jewish heritage.

Bass says the approximately 300 guests, including his former bandmates JC Chasez, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick, were asked to come dressed as though they were attending "a royal wedding but at the Met Ball".

Bass' other former bandmate Justin Timberlake, currently on tour, was unable to attend, but the newly wed singer said the latter "feels bad" about missing the festivities.

The couple wore custom tuxes they designed in collaboration with stylist Jeff Kim and the ceremony was officiated by actresses JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Jamie-Lynn Sigler, whom the newlyweds consider very close friends.

"You could easily go to a preacher, a pastor or a rabbi but I don’t like that because you don't really know them. You have a stranger in charge of the most important day of your life," said Bass.

The vows were written by the couple themselves.
