Kundapur, Dec 22: In a tragic incident reported on Monday December 22, a woman ended her life by consuming poison at her house in Jadkal.

The deceased has been identified as Mini Mathew (28) from Shivamogga.

Mini was working in Akkodu as a teacher. Her husband Wilson is an electrician. They have two sons aged 5 and 3.

As per a complaint lodged by Mini's father Mathew M J of Shivamogga, a marital dispute pushed her into taking the extreme step. In the complaint, Mathew states that Mini, the youngest of his four children, was married to Wilson of Jadkal five years ago on January 26, 2009.

On the night of Sunday December 21, Mini had called her father on talked as usual, giving no hint of anything being wrong. On the morning of December 22, he got the news that his daughter was in a serious condition, and by the time the family came from Shivamogga, she had already passed away, states the complaint.

Mini's father expressed suspicions that Mini was harassed by her husband, and that there could be no other reason for her to end her life. He also claimed that Mini used to say Wilson would frequently consume intoxicants.

The body was shifted to Kundapur government hospital mortuary. Tahsildar Gayatri Nayak visited the mortuary and inquired about the case.

Kollur police have registered a case.

Before committing suicide she should have thought of her young children . She has not achieved anything out of suicide. If they have not found suicide note then matter should be investigated for murder, who knows she might have been forced to drink poison.May her soul rest in peace.

Unfortunate loss of a precious life Mini Mathew. Suicide was not the last option. She should have filed for divorce instead. May she find peace that she obviously did not have in this life.
