Kundapur: Eight injured as Omni, tourist bus collide

Kundapur, Dec 22: Eight persons were injured when a Maruti Omni and a tourist bus collided at Halkal near Jadkal here on Monday December 22.

The Omni was plying towards Kollur and the tourist bus was plying from Kollur to Kundapur.

Nine persons were travelling in the Omni. It is learnt the accident took place when they were returning from Siddhapur where they had gone to attend a function.

The injured have been identified as Abhilash (22), Ratnakar (23), Jalaja (35), Ratna (36), Shubha (30), Kusuma (42), Nagaratna (36) and Renuka. They were admitted to a private hospital in Kundapur.

The front portion of the Omni was completely smashed in the accident.

The exact cause for the accident is not yet known.

Kollur police have registered the case.
