Lourdes Central School celebrates annual school day

Mangaluru, Dec 23: ‘Folk Tales Repertoire’ the annual school day of Lourdes Central School was held on Monday, December 22,2014 organized by in the school grounds. The cultural programme based on the theme ‘Folk Tales of the World’ rendered by the students, took off with a prayer song and a welcome dance.

The president Fr Wilson Vitus D’souza welcomed and introduced the esteemed and erudite guests to the gathering. The chief guest was Ivan D’souza, Member of the Legistative Council, the guest of honour was Mahabala Marla, mayor of Mangaluru, Nirmal D’souza, vice-president of parish council, Bejai, Fr Michael Lobo, principal of LCS, Belita Mascarenhas, vice-principal of LCS, Violet D’Souza the senior secondary co-ordinator, Apoline Lobo, primary Co-ordinator, and Lydia D’Souza, the KG coordinator.

In his inaugural address, Fr Wilson Vitus D’souza mentioned that Lourdes Central School not only concentrates on academics but also on all-round development of its students. He expressed his joy, about the performance of the students in the field of academics, sports, inter- school events and discipline. He stressed on ‘Children being the Future’ and therefore would be instrumental in making ‘A better tomorrow’. He lauded the teachers for their tremendous effort and hard work. He wished one and all ‘A Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year 2015’
















The principal Fr Michael Lobo presented the School Annual Report 2014 -15’.

The chief guest, Ivan D’souza, and the guest of honour, Mahabala Marla were felicitated by Fr Wilson D’souza and Fr Michael Lobo.

The chief guest Ivan D’souza congratulated and felicitated the students who brought glory to the school through their achievements and distinctions. In his address, he appreciated and congratulated both students and teachers and felt proud that LCS is doing tremendously well both in school and inter-school competitions. He advised students to empower themselves with knowledge and enjoy school days to the maximum.

The guest of honour, Mahabala Marla in his address expressed his gratitude to the management and teachers for the wonderful performance of the students and wished them well in their future endeavours.

The magnificent stage set-up of fairy tale prince, princess, goblins and talking animals from around the world created an ambiance that literally steered the audience through the enthralling presentation of foibles, folklore and fun. The programme gave a glimpse into the enchanted land of LCS, the place where all the folk and fairytale characters really lived in ‘Folktale Repertoire’.
